"Faithfully Named"~ A thought by Sinbad the Sailor Man

Poetry: A  story of life given in birth and a life taken from death

"Faithfully Named"

As I slept there, with the unknown babe, that was placed at my side
I felt a peace come over me, such that I have never known
For she was delivered late in the night; by God’s saving Grace

She was so tiny, pink, and frail; all alone
Her mother had past, just before her birth
She was our child our first

I had great Hope, that we would all
Be going home
But, we two are now both, alone

She has a head, full of dark and curly hair
She has her mother’s, deep blue mesmerizing eyes
She has my mother’s big old smile

And her mother’s, mother’s nose
She posses all of her fingers and all of her toes
She is; as healthy as an ox, the doctors all say so

That did give me some but, a fast depleting Joy
These tears they; well up in my eyes, and dry
My heart it skips a beat, maybe two

How on earth will I ever manage her, all alone
I do not know what it is, I am suppose to do
I hear that voice and I scold myself

Stop your whining fool
Man up, we have both lost so much
But, we have gained each other too

As the nurse takes her out of, that plastic container
She says as soon as you name her
You may take her home, such a chore I thought

I am paralyzed
We never did decide
Hope, Joy, Grace

The nurse could see
The distress upon my face
And the fear, as I teared

She said: don’t worry dear
It will all work out fine
Just take some time

Your wife; she had such faith, in you
She was a very lovely lady
As she placed you in my arms and then

Quietly she disappeared

The tears hung there for awhile
As I bowed my head, I mutter the words
That the nurse had said

A tear drop, must of landed on your cheek
Because, you had awoken, from your sleep
Such faith in me I said

When faith I said: your blue eyes opened wide

Faith I said again: you gave a little coo

Faith I said one last time: you smiled and I cried

"Fire Drake"~ A thought by Sinbad the Sailor Man

A Story poem

"Fire Drake"

It slumbers beneath the rolling stream
Dreaming of your screams
Your running blood

When looked for it can not be seen
But he, knows you are coming

It’s skin is as iron

Its teeth are a bit shy of thirteen inch nails
Its tail is razor sharp, along the spaded end

When confronted by him, you may start sobbing
Or
You may find that religion that you thought you may have had

If you give it your all, boy
You may be successful in your quest
Your test

They have spied him down by the lake
Some; they call him, a “Fire Drake”

When you have awakened him
It is fire that you’ll be seeing

The heat and stench, of
Its breath

Start your fleeing son
Run as fast as you can
Unless it is fame and fortune
that
You are seeking
Or if it is only for the glory of it all

Lad

Be careful
 For what you wish for

Battling this winged giant
Could cost you your very life
And
The villagers theirs as well!

But, by defeating him, you can spare
Someone theirs
Even if
The King has sentenced them, himself

Yes son, this is the law
You must slay him
Put It down before, the sun rises

To the full of noon
This is all you have

After the day
You, proclaim, to do this deed

No, son Fire Drakes never run!

But, would be knights have taken flight
These Knights; must now run forever
Or the thing shall find them

And dispatch of them
For he now carries their scent

Tis no easy task lad, it may be

Your last, but do as you must

To save her, your wife
Remember son when you slay him

If you slay him

Be sure to cut off Its head

Tis the only way to be sure it is dead

You must place it on the floor
Before the King
 as proof
To the battle won

No son; the King will not deny your wish

He will release your young wife
Just be sure to place, Its head

Snout facing the King!
And then rest but one
Foot upon It

Why? You ask

Then he; will know you, to be
A true, Dragon Slayer

"Spoken With Out Words"` By Sinbad the Sailor Man

Poetry: Reflections on a man's inability, to express his words aloud

"Spoken With Out Words"

Be careful dear, as a man I am unable

To speak as, the Poet does

I know you will hear me, if only

You would remember

As a man I fear the breaking of, my

Glass lips and porcelain heart

So I speak to you, with hands bound, and made of steel

Bound in leather, so you won’t feel

The coldness of their stealing touch

Of your healing and of your passions

My panoplied eyes, search your very soul

To see if the trust, be within you told

Your eyes must hear, they must care

You must not fear for the wants of my heart

It only wishes to share, yet it dares not, dare

For my skin it crawls, low and before your heart

In plain view, I bow about your feet

My head beneath them, when I smile at you

Enabled hearts must be careful dear; as they continually seek

As a man, I am unable to speak, as the poets do

With my glass lips and porcelain heart

My words are, but stones thrown about

They may break your bones, if not pierce your heart

My eyes see your wants; It wants, therefore to speak

But, it is only a porcelain heart

Trampled with, glass lips; and broken shards

"Beef and Cream"~ By Sinbad the Sailor Man

Poetry: About Cows?

The Cattle men and the Dairy farmer
Both raise and breed these
Their Cash cows

But only one man reaps and keeps
Reusing the gifts of this his Venture
Time and time again it never stops

Black and white spots
Verses the gray and tan
One Bloodied and chopped

And then shipped away for the day
The other washed and massaged
And then they are led away

Their time at hand
One screams and bellows
And then tries to run

Fear is seen there in their eyes
And yet it is seen only once
No more tears shall fall

From their calved eyes
And now for the other
She

Marches forward
Lowly and loyal and wishes
There for to stand

At least twice a day she is
Rushed in and then
Milked

Calm is seen within
There in her old cow eyes
All the day long

There for both the farmers
And the ranchers
Profit from these sacred cows

But what then is
The futures of
The kines

Unfortunately Only one of them
These kines may profit from men
And their kinds

Ah baloney and cheese
Pass me the milk please
Oh how unkind I am

A Broken and Dusty Loom

As we begin to weave our happiness; unquestioned

Two sun sets seen; in every days ending

Unquestioned Knights

The dust settles upon the Loom

As we begin the fight

The shock and awl of It all...

"Love Conquers All"~ A thought by Sinbad the Sailor Man

Poetry: Reflections of the Disillusions, About Loves Almighty Power

"Love Conquers All"

I too; once believed that this old nursery rhyme was true
For now my eyes are weeping and my brain is battered and bruised

Fish eyes, dried and raspberry foam, have come to replace this; fairy's tale
For now I am  dreamless and all alone; scared and scarred

I was a champion too, a defender of; this encouraging lie
For this fairy tale; I would behead O-gars and defile deadly Demons

For I was so, convinced of Its truth
I myself forgot, it was just a nursery rhyme, meant to sooth

Oh wear on me Soothe-say er grind me down once more
Tell me the tale
Whisper it once more

Its sweet words into my ears
For life is now unholy and so full of our tears

I wish again, to dream as lovers do
Bring me back from the other side

Let me, not die here in the silence and the dark
 but
Brighten my spirit and lift my heart

PitCures in Time

Poem: The Healing Powers of Memories and Pictures Stored

A snap shot frozen in time
Weathered in vinegar or wine

Pixels spread in hues of reds, yellows, and  greens
A scene is seen; a clip of time instilled in ones mind

Black and white or blazing in Technicolor
Never any worry of any other

Albums collected and stored
Maintained, oh what a chore

A labor of love for sure
Whenever I recall my memories from

Never realizing I was under the gun
From times beginning tale; the world spun

Oh whatever, I did feel the nudge
And I can recall the feelings rendered
For time served; oh fudge

I wish I could crawl right back in
Into some of my lost shots of sin

All my wide grins, tin cans, and sand
The wedding, the golden band; your tan

To crawl back in bed with you once more
The things I would change; for that once more

Some say they would not change one thing
Oh God; dear sir, I place no blame on anything

But the focus of the shots
If time could be re-bought
For I was playing in a rigged game

How was it, I kept from going insane?
Was it the music playing deep within my brain
Or was it the beat to the continual rain?

Where are all these cares stacked?

Am I this ages Job?
Or is it my frontal lobe?

Will this story's truth ever be told
I did sell my soul for glimpses of gold

Would I sell it once more?

You bet!

                      "My Callous Hands"

My callous hands work through out the day
They work continually trying to eek out a position in this old dirty world
In so doing they have become thick and rough and oh so tough
When young I was the world turned so slowly; my hands were ever so smooth
Never ever did I seem so lonely; I was easily relieved and received

But seasoning and wine have me serving time alone
I've callously turned my eyes away from my youthful dreams
Blistered my hands and my mind one might say
I have over worked them

My callous heart it beats precisely and only as it needs
For in younger days it fluttered and dance nearly flew
At every chance of romance it would beat
As native drums would beat; those that were on the path
Singled out from the war of love; now my heart willingly rests

It would not beat at all, if this tongue of mine
Could give up the chocolates and the sweets or the bitters and the wine
Dry, cracked, and scarred I fold these callous hands

On bended knees I plead, Father please, hear me
Dear Lord I am a broken man, please take me, as I am
If you can heal me once again, please do
Use me too, to do your deeds, use me please
For I need, to be needed, yes I do

Dear God in Heaven I am begging of you
Do not let me rot away, here in this dirty old world, today
At least not in this way, broken and torn

A prayer I have written, on my calloused heart
Callously written by, my calloused hands
I send my soul into your hands
Father

Poetry: Reflections of Betrayal

          "White Shifting Sand"

Here now, in this dark and desolate place
That once was, a warm and happy space

Filled with bright yellow sunshine, and
Sweet joy; the continuous laughter

In a time so fertile, no end in sight
Deep blue water, swaying palms

And endless romancing, long into the night
And then

The beautiful white and shifting sand
This place was designed, for a woman and a man

It was not fit for disaster
Wondering eyes, a fleeting heart

A simple plan, a broken heart
A simple man

Sitting on, the white and shifting sand
Seemed so obvious, she should have known

As a razor, cuts her to the bone
Love torn, rings worn

A soul bleeds and so does she
Upon the white and shifting sand

Stained blood red
With their warm and steaming love
