Poetry: A Philosopher's poem on this world
This was a Night School poem, back in 1981. I was trying to impress the 24 year old teacher. A hot blonde, bomb shell!
"Who's to Blame?"
The happenings of the Ages
The wars, the destruction
The ups and the downs
History is said to repeat itself
But, no longer is the world doomed
To follow that old path of gloom
As the Merry-go-round, to repeat over and over
Like the broken record going
Round and round
Because, now
“Man-Kind” has invented the
“Instant cure button”
Whenever war breaks out
Some poor fool, will push it
And end the worlds problems
Or
Maybe
Just maybe!
The “King of King’s” will come
Before time, it is forgotten
Before it becomes necessary to use that button!
Some one, once said to me, that man
“Is self- programmed by his environment”
So I ask?
Who is to blame for “Man-Kinds” destruction?
He that creates, his environment or
The environment that, creates him?
