I got up and dusted off the soy covered scraps
Chinese noodles and left over cabbage
My attention drawn straight back to her
Squeals of ecstatic laughter; from a child hobbling around
With full metal leg braces on
Then I thought, I knew, what this lady, was all about
Just another working mother
But as I watched on, out the door flew two more; being chased by their mother
Then the young father; whisking out and about
In his athletic wheelchair
But no Grandmother there, then it clicked
This was the chick, from the E.R. just a short year ago, today
The family I had saved, but I, myself was not alone
Conclusions drawn; this old flatfoot, he was wrong; she is an angel like creature
She is the devoted, Sister
